It is the best way for you to determine the outcome of your case without submitting yourself to the rigors and wait of a trial.
Child Custody
Custody refers to who has the children the majority of the time. This applies even if you have never been married to your child’s other parent. At Verett Law, we have successfully helped parents fight for custody of their children, whether they are married to or separated from their children’s other parent. We have helped our clients shape custodial plans that meet the needs of their children and ensure an active role for both parents in their children’s future.
Child Support
Child support is paid from one parent to the other for the benefit of the children. Ms. Verett has significant experience helping custodial parents get the correct amount of child support and helping noncustodial parents pay the right amount of support. If you child support order has not been modified in several years, it is probably time to review your child support. Alternatively, if you have had a change in circumstances, such as job loss, health problems, significant medical bills or other life-changing circumstances, Ms. Verett can represent you to get your child support adjusted.
Orders of Protection
Orders of Protection are also sometimes called restraining orders. They are an Order designed to keep one person away from another. Legal Separation
Some people opt for a legal separation from their spouse when they are separated but do not want to divorce. Some people cannot get divorced for religious reasons, ethical reasons or for other reasons such as insurance, tax purposes or other reasons. A legal separation can accomplish division of assets, determination of custody and division of debts while you remain married. While legal separation is more rare than divorce, Ms. Verett has experience helping her clients obtain an official legal separation.

Without a Court order, you may have the right to visitation but no way to enforce it. Sometimes, custodial parents withhold visitation when one parent does not pay child support. Ms. Verett has significant experience working with parents to reach a visitation schedule that maximizes her client’s role in the upbringing of the children. She has many strategies to help you start and keep your visitation in place, and build a positive relationship with your children. She has worked on cases with long-distance visitation, visitation via phone contact and visitation schedules where one parent has not seen their child for several years. She also has experience in adjusting visitation schedules to match your children’s need as they grow. Ms. Verett often does visitation cases along with child support cases.
Fathers Rights
Fathers have the right to be actively involved in how their children are raised. The law has changed to give fathers equality before the Court. Every child deserves to have his or her father involved and every father deserves to have an experienced attorney. The team at Verett Law has experience in helping parents of both sexes maximize their role with their children.
Modification of Custody
Custody and visitation Orders do not change over time, but your children do. Sometimes, it becomes apparent that you need to seek to modify these Orders to take into account the current reality you face.
